Coralie “Corky” Blackburn, a Risk Analyst in the Quality Department of Beacon Health Options’s Pennsylvania Engagement Center, works daily with the aftermath of suicide and suicide attempts. She came to the company in 1998 after managing the behavioral health unit of a national third party utilization review company. During that time, Ms. Blackburn also developed healthcare advocacy programs for returning Gulf War veterans. She was the founder of an organization that serves child and adult victims of sexual abuse/assault, which has been renamed “The Blackburn Center” in honor of her pioneering work. “Corky” received her master’s degree in Human Services from Lincoln University of Pennsylvania in 1989 and continues to volunteer internationally as a program development and implementation specialist for her church.
